  • Had a great week. Beautiful spot, amazing big skies at sunset and a cracking view of the hills to the west. Hosts Florence and Ben were lovely, made sure I was well stocked up with food and didn't work me too hard. They told me about all the good places to go and explore near by which included the idyllic villages and beaches of Gardenstown and Crovie and a magical lonely valley filled with ancient trees and animal skeletons, could have spent days wondering round exploring there. Florence has done a great job engaging the local community with the land and has built up a big team of committed volunteers and friends, she's provided growing space to several families from the village empowering them to get growing their own food, very inspiring. I'd recommend the place to anyone thinking of going Wwoofing and hope to go back myself one day.

  • Gamrie Gardens is a beautiful place. I had a really good time being there. I loved the sheep just running around living their best lives, and the variety of little trees slowly turning into a majestic forest, and well everything really. Flo is very kind, and fun to be around. She made sure I had everything I needed, fresh eggs, things from garden and then some more. Got to stay in a caravan also, which was very comfortable. Good work and lots of free time. Had some lovely nights by the fire and met some pretty cool people. All in all, I would totally recommend :)

  • Had a truly wonderful time with Flo! She is an incredibly inspired person working through the beginning stages of a very cool and thoughtful project. She is really connected to her land and is trying to make a bridge between nature and the community. My responsibilities were very light and enjoyable, and Flo does a good job of letting you pick what to help with based on your interests. I had plenty of time to explore, walk around, and meet people in the area. Would recommend this spot if you have your own living arrangements such as a caravan, car camping or a tent. That being said, Flo went out of her way to make me comfortable and happy! Would highly recommend.

  • Me and my boyfriend spent 2 awesome weeks with Flo at Gamrie Gardens. Flo is such a friendly and welcoming person and made us feel immediately at ease.  Gamrie Gardens is a very inspiring space.  It is an amazing showcase of what ex-agricultural land can become ( land that had until  fairly recently been rinsed by modern farming).  The once dead soil is now bursting with life.  Trees and flowers are shooting up everywhere.  And the thriving community allotments are very productive.  The place is also full of fun, positive energy.  There are some very happy pet lambs rescued from a bleak fate who now leap around joyfully (and enjoy cuddles!)   The activities we got involved in were enjoyable and gave us an opportunity to come up with our own solutions (such a refreshing contrast to the mentality of a 'workplace. ) They were also very light and chilled. We came away from Gamrie Gardens feeling rested, well nourished and inspired. It was a great pleasure to have spent 2 weeks with Flo in this awesome place.

  • We gad an amazing stay at Gamrie Gardens. We knew from her description and a previous call what to expect (although we were surprised by a huge belltent for wwoofers:)). As Wwoofer you can do loads of things and work fairly independent if you like. Florence was very friendly, honest communication was important to her (in both directions) and was very flexible. We did enjoy our time there and we'll visit again!

  • Gamrie Gardens is a wonderful place and Florence has described the situation clearly and honestly in her profile. I've greatly enjoyed my days there, I've learnt a lot and I hope to continue returning, helping and learning into the future. As Florence says, the project is in early stages of an incredible dream which therefore provides a huge range of opportunities for future Wwoofers - veg planting, no-dig, companion planting and all sorts (including some harder physical work if you want it I'm sure :D ). The area is beautiful with a stunning seaside town just down the hill. I really look foward to volunteering back with Florence.
